ZEELAND, Mich.--  Pumpkinfest is pleased to announce that registration for the 2014 Caring People Parade, sponsored by Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital, is now available!


Application forms can be found online at www.pumpkinfest-zeeland.org, by email request at pfestinfo@gmail.com or by calling (616) 566-6457. The parade will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 3 p.m. in downtown Zeeland, Michigan. 


The Caring People Parade features more than 100 floats that are decorated in an autumn theme or this year's Pumpkinfest theme, "Pumpkinfest Pride...Celebrating 30 Years!" 


Coordinating this year's parade is Shannon Yanek. Yanek has extensive experience coordinating parades and other festival events.


"We are thrilled to have Spectrum Health Zeeland on board supporting the parade again this year and delighted to welcome our new parade coordinator," commented Carla Flanders, Pumpkinfest director.  "In addition to the parade and celebrating 30 years of Pumpkinfest, we have a number of new and exciting events lined up. Parade applications and entry fees submitted by June 30 will receive a discounted rate of $25. The cost for applications received after June 30 will be $30. Payment can be made by check to Zeeland Festivals with "Pumpkinfest Parade" in the memo line and mailed to PO Box 94, Zeeland, MI 49464. Entry fees will be waived for EMS, fire, police, military and school marching band entries only.


The deadline to submit parade applications is Friday, September 5, 2014. Space is limited so it is highly recommended that interested parties submit their applications as early as possible. Payment must be received before entries will be approved.


Pumpkinfest in Zeeland, Michigan has been celebrating community, family fun and fall activities for nearly 30 years. Pumpkinfest 2014 will take place on Oct. 2, 3 and 4. The three-day event features a number of activities and programs that can be enjoyed by all ages. This year's theme is "Pumpkinfest Pride...Celebrating 30 Years!"
