Snow aplenty for Zeeland 'Wintervention'
ZEELAND, Mich.— They wanted snow, and they got it.
The flakes were in abundance on Saturday, Jan. 25 for Zeeland’s fourth annual Wintervention. The event was previously cancelled in 2012 and 2013 because of a lack of snow. This year, only high winds and frigid temperatures led to a few minor changes.

The team of volunteers used plastic trash cans and buckets as molds for their four-foot snowmen. In all, Zeeland participants built 156 snowmen in two hours, earning the city second place. Three Rivers took the top spot, creating 421 snowmen on Saturday. Saline came in third with 123 snowmen, followed by St.
