Hope College 2011 Graduation Activities

HOLLAND - Hope College will hold its graduation activities on Sunday, May 8:

Baccalaureate will be held on Sunday, May 8, at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at Dimnent Memorial Chapel. The Baccalaureate sermon will be delivered by the Rev. Dr. Blaine Newhouse, newly appointed executive director of Geneva Camp and Retreat Center and most recently pastor of preaching and leadership with Calvary Reformed Church in Holland. Admission is by ticket only.

Approximately 730 graduating seniors will participate in Commencement on Sunday, May 8, at 3 p.m. at Holland Municipal Stadium. Dr. Jesus Montaño, associate professor of English at Hope, will be the speaker. The ceremony will also include the announcement of the recipient of the 2011 Hope Outstanding Professor Educator (H.O.P.E.) Award, presented by the graduating class. In the event of inclement weather, Commencement will be held at the DeVos Fieldhouse. Tickets will be required only if the ceremony is held indoors.
