From the City of Holland:

The Holland Area has been developed around the local watershed since its conception. We rely on the watershed for transportation, agriculture, industry and recreation. Despite how much you use this resource how much do you know about it?

On April 16th at Kollen Park from 9 A.M. to noon you will have a chance to learn all about the Macatawa watershed. Local organizations will be present to offer information on all aspects of how we interact with the watershed. Learn about what lives in the watershed, how humans are affecting it, how we use it in daily life and for the adventurous learn about recreational activities on the water.

Take a break from learning about the animals of the watershed to chat with the local fire department and get an up-close look at a fire truck. From there you can enjoy many of the family activities set up, don't forget to have your picture taken posing at the wetland cutout.

Hosted by the Outdoor Discovery Center Macatawa Greenway, and sponsored by the Macatawa Area Coordinating Council and Eldean Shipyard, the Macatawa Water Festival will provide a fantastic opportunity to get out along the Greenway and satisfy your curiosity about all things water-related, from how ground water contaminants affect your tap water, to where the best dive spots are in Lake Michigan.
We look forward to seeing you at Kollen Park in downtown Holland on Saturday, April 16th, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM to learn all about the water around you.
