Business is booming for work placement agency

HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) -- Business at a Holland work placement agency is booming and helping hundreds of people find jobs.

The agency, Workforce Management, has expanded twice within the last half-year. The company's owner says it's partly because the workforce is being restored and companies are hiring again.

"When there's a downturn, the first to go are temporary employees," said CEO Ruben Juarez. "When it turns around, same thing... the temporary employees are the ones getting calls."

Juarez was just awarded the Holland Chamber's Minority Business of the Year for his business practices and community involvement. He says the company has hired an estimated 1,500 workers since it opened in 2007.

"It's awesome. To be able to make a difference, a positive difference in somebody's life," he said. " It's rewarding to be able to offer them a job and an opportunity "

Juarez just opened branches in Grand Rapids and Ludington.

The company which sources talent to companies like Padnos and Herman Miller is currently looking to fill at least 15-to-20 full and part time positions.
