ZEELAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- One person is recovering from injuries sustained in a crash with a tanker truck, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.

The man, a 47-year-old Zeeland resident, was traveling eastbound on Adams Street near 48th Avenue when he collided into a milk tanker truck, which was backing up into a private drive.

The accident happened just after 4:40 a.m. Sunday.

Police say the man was pinned inside his vehicle after the crash. He was extricated from the vehicle and airlifted by Aero Med helicopter to a Grand Rapids hospital. He was listed in stable condition.

The truck driver, a 30-year-old Holland man, was unhurt. The truck had its lights on at the time of the crash, police say.
