Suspect in custody after bus stabbing in Holland

HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) -- A 57-year-old Holland man is in custody after he allegedly stabbed a man on a bus in Holland.

The incident occurred just before 11 a.m. on a Max Transit bus near 13th Street and Columbia Avenue.

Officers were given a description of the suspect and were able to locate and arrest him without incident near 14th Street and College Avenue.

The victim, a 36-year-old Holland man, was taken to Holland Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

This incident occurred near Hope College but is not related to the college or any of the students.

Police tell WZZM 13 the suspect and the victim know each other. The suspect's name will be released after he is officially charged and arraigned.
