This weekend: Wine, music, BBQ and reptiles

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- If you're looking for fun events, there are plenty of things to do this weekend in West Michigan.

Here are just a few of the events taking place:

  • The second annual Wine-A-Palooza is at the West Michigan Banquet Center, 3361 Charlevoix Drive SE, Cascade Township, from 6-11 p.m. Friday.  You can try 48 different wines from all over the world, and food will be served.
    Tickets are $45 for wine and food, or $35 for just wine.
  • GRAM on the Green is Friday night.  It's a free outdoor summer concert from 5-9 p.m. in front of the Grand Rapids Art Museum. The Moxie Strings with Fritz McGirr is performing. GRAM on the Green is every Friday night through August 23.
  • Zeeland Zummerfest is going on this weekend in Ottawa County. There are sidewalk sales, and a car cruise at 6 p.m. Friday.  Look for the cars on Main Avenue between Franklin and Fairview.  There will also be a "show and shine" classic car show 9 a.m. Saturday.  You can also enjoy barbecue chicken, and root beer floats.
  • The Great Lakes Reptile Expo is at the Howard Johnson's Star Plaza on 28th Street in Grand Rapids, beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday.  Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children 10 and under.  There will be reptiles, exotic animals, supplies, feeders, cages and more.
