Holland hosting recycling contest | News
HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) -- Holland residents have a chance to win up to a year of free garbage pick up.
The "I love to recycle contest" began the first week of June. City inspectors are looking for residents who have done the best job at sorting their garbage and recycling.
Each week through the end of August, there will be new guest inspector. WZZM 13's Alex Shabad was this week's guest inspector.
Mary Ann Hensley, Holland's recycle education coordinator says, "We are striving to have guest inspectors each week and we thank you for joining us this week. We just think having guest inspectors will highlight the fact that everyone is interested in making sure recycling is done well so that it becomes the commodity that it is, we can turn that around we can sell those recyclables."
City inspectors are randomly choosing residents with a yellow sticker, which means they want to enter the contest. So far, three people have won six months of free garbage pick up.
