2 to 1 Premarital Event Helps Couples Build Strong Marital Foundation

On Saturday, March 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., engaged and newly-married couples will come together at the Midtown Center in Holland for the 2 to 1 Premarital Event to learn how to build a strong marriage relationship. Speaker Doug Swink, from Winning At Home, will lead the event and share with couples the importance of the sacred marriage covenant.

“Marriage is one of the most profound commitments people will make in the history of the world. Those sacred two words, ‘I do’ spoken at the marriage ceremony are meant to bind a couple’s hearts, souls, and lives together till death do they part,” Swink says.

Couples attending the 2.2.1 event will walk away with the tools they need to build a solid marriage foundation. Tickets are $95 per couple and are available at www.winningathome.com.

Holland Museum to host Scouting events

HOLLAND, Mich. - Former Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Campfire members are invited to a Scouting Alumni Open House at Holland Museum on Thursday, February 17, 2011, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

The free event is part of the Museum's current Wichers Gallery exhibition entitled "Be Prepared! Celebrating a Century of Scouting" that runs through March 19, 2011.  The exhibition was curated by the museum's archivist, Caz Jung, a scouting alumnus and active scouting mom. She hopes the open house will be a chance for former scouts to gather for fellowship, food, and to share fun memories and insights garnered from their time as scouts.

"I'm hoping people will bring their merit badges and whatever parts of their outfits they might still have," says Jung.
