Hope College will host the following major events on Friday-Sunday, Oct. 14-16:

Homecoming activities at Hope College will run Friday through Sunday, Oct. 14-16, and are expected to bring back hundreds of alumni.  Highlights will include:

• Reunions for the classes of 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006 (Saturday);

• The 33rd Hope Run Walk (Friday, 6:30 p.m., DeVos Fieldhouse);

• The Homecoming Celebration Brunch, during which the Hope College Alumni Association will present Young Alumni Awards to Todd Soderquist ’96 of Canton, platform program manager, managing global product delivery for mid-to-large cars and sport-utility vehicles, with Ford Motor Company, and Timothy Dykstra ’98 of Walla Walla, Wash., environmental compliance and stewardship program manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Northwestern Division (Saturday, 9:30 a.m., Haworth Inn and Conference Center);

• A tailgate picnic (Saturday, noon-2 p.m., Smallenberg Park];

• Home football with Albion College (Saturday, 2 p.m.; Holland Municipal Stadium); home Volleyball (Midwest Invitational, Hope plays on Friday at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., and on Saturday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., DeVos Fieldhouse); and home men’s soccer (Saturday, 7 p.m., Van Andel Soccer Stadium);

• The crowning of the Homecoming king and queen, and the presentation of appreciation awards by the college’s Social Activities Committee and student life office to Tony Van Houten, who is physical plant event manager at Hope, and the Hope United for Justice student organization. (Saturday, halftime during football game, Holland Municipal Stadium);

• Alumni H-Club presentation of the “Hope for Humanity” award to President James E. and Martie Bultman.  They are being honored for their dedicated service to Hope as president and first lady of the college since 1999.  James Bultman will be retiring at the end of June (Saturday, halftime during the men’s soccer game, Van Andel Soccer Stadium);

• A worship service featuring the Chapel Choir and Chapel Choir alumni directed by Brad Richmond of the Hope faculty.  The service will be led by the college’s campus ministries team (Sunday, 10 a.m.; Dimnent Memorial Chapel).
