Proposed New Residential Exterior Modification Ordinance

The City of Holland is proposing a new section to the Zoning Ordinance (39-199) that will regulate the placement of certain architectural elements when residential homes in the Central Neighborhoods receive new siding, new doors, new windows and new porches. This ordinance applies to all residential properties in the Central Neighborhood District roughly 8th St. to 24th St. and Fairbanks Ave to Ottawa Ave. unless the property is located in one of the three Historic Districts.

The City will be hosting an open house to discuss this ordinance with interested parties on Monday September 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  The City Planning Commission will then hold a public hearing on Tuesday September 13 at 5:00 p.m.  After the public hearing, the Planning Commission will take action on whether or not to send the ordinance to City Council for their approval.
