Police dog tracks down Holland burglary suspect in home

HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) -- A 35-year-old man is facing breaking and entering charges after he was arrested in the attic of a Holland home.

A neighbor spotted a man entering the window of a home in the 700 block of College Ave. around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.  The neighbor reported the incident to 911 operators.

Police responding to the scene set up a perimeter around the home and issued repeated demands for the man to come out and surrender.  They say the man failed to obey and retreated into the house.

A Holland Police officer and dog, Henry, searched the home and found the suspect in the attic, then placed the man under arrest.

Investigators expect the suspect to appear in court Wednesday, when he will be formally charges with breaking, and entering and felony resisting and obstructing.
