Local law enforcement has been investigating an incident involving two Hope College students known to each other. This incident began on campus Monday morning and led to an alleged physical assault on one of the students.

The victim was treated and released at Holland Hospital for her physical injuries and is receiving support from the college’s staff.

The alleged assailant, Alex Brock, has been arraigned in District Court on two felony charges. A condition of his potential bond release is that he must stay away from the Hope College campus.

This is a very difficult time for two Hope College families and their friends. As a caring community, please support them with your thoughts and prayers. Also, as we approach exam week, please continue to honor the special needs of all members of our campus community.

If you wish assistance in connection with this matter, please contact the Counseling and Psychological Services staff.
