HOLLAND, Michigan – Forty-five community partners led by Good Samaritan Ministries (GSM) will come together to share with all Holland/Zeeland residents, resources and information on affordable, healthy and simple living.  The event will take place on Tuesday, August 30, 3 to 7 pm in downtown Holland at the 8th Street Market Place (Farmers Market).  In case of rain the event will be held indoors at the Civic Center.

Resources and information will be organized in the following areas; jobs and careers, affordable living, health and wellness, finance and budgeting, volunteer opportunities and education and recreation.

The Fifth Third Bank Homeownership Mobile E-bus will also be available.  The E-bus is a full-size commercial bus that promotes community outreach and travels directly to where people work and live to increase access to information and home ownership.  “We are excited to have the E-bus as part of our resource day”, states Linda Jacobs, Executive Director of Good Samaritan Ministries.  “All who participate in this free event will have the opportunity to connect with neighbors and the participating community partners and discover new and creative ways to transition to more affordable, healthy and simple living!”

In addition, presentations on a variety of topics will be featured every 45 minutes from 3:15 to 6:15 pm during the event.  Topics are:

  1. Your Credit Your Life
  2. Own Your Money - Not Money Owning You
  3. Rules of the Mortgage Lending Game
  4. Getting a Good Start in Life
  5. What’s in your Applesauce?  Why Buy Local?
