(FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE) -- Ottawa County Michigan Works! will be assisting Johnson Controls, Lakewood facility at JCI’s job fair Wednesday, May 4 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Holland. The job fair will be from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.  The DoubleTree Hotel is located at 650 E. 24th Street in Holland, between Waverly and Route 31.

The Lakewood facility of Johnson Controls has over 100 open positions. The positions are full-time, direct-hire and there is a range of available jobs. Interested individuals will bring their resume and fill out an application.

The Lakewood facility of Johnson Controls manufactures automotive seating components and the range of open positions includes:


  • Hi-lo drivers
  • Maintenance technicians
  • Engineering
  • General manufacturing positions

A brief job description of the General Manufacturing positions include:

  • Assembly of automotive seating Frames and /or operating automated welding machines
  • Develop proficiency in all production job functions and rotate in job cell into various work stations
  • Control processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
  • Assembly of quality seating Frames
  • Walk, stand, reach, lift, bend, pull, push to move product through build process
  • Use of hand-held pneumatic tools
  • Operation of assembly fixtures
  • Problem solving of work place issues
  • Quality inspections of work in progress
  • Work as part of a team to ensure on-time quality product to our customers (internal and external)
  • Incorporate safe working procedures into all daily activities in and around facility

In order for candidates to be selected applicants must have High School diploma or equivalent.

Representatives from Johnson Controls will be on site to answer questions and collect applications. Representatives from Ottawa County Michigan Works! will be on site to assist in application completion and collection.

On Wednesday, May 4, Ottawa County Michigan Works! will assist at the job fair of Johnson Controls at Holland’s DoubleTree Hotel, 650 E. 24th St., from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Johnson Controls is looking for qualified applicants to fill over 100 open positions. Applicants must bring their resume and will fill out an application on site. These jobs are full-time, direct-hire.
