Hasselman's Honey Bees are coming to the Holland Farmers Market

From: http://www.hollandfarmersmarket.com

Bring your little honeybees to the Kids Activities at the Holland Farmers Market next Wednesday, June 15 at 9:30 am to experience the sweet life of bees. Larry Hasselman, owner of Hasselman's Pure Michigan Honey, will bring his bees to the Market for an interactive presentation. Kids will have the chance to see live honey bees up close while learning about the different types of bees, the hive, and of course, honey! The Herrick District Library will also be returning this week for a story time before the presentation at 9:30 am.

Hasselman has been a beekeeper for over 30 years and sells his own high-quality honey, along with honey-based soaps, lip balms, and candles. He began with a single beehive and now has over 75 in what has developed into a both fascinating hobby and successful business. He takes pride in knowing that his honey is of the highest quality as he remains one of the few producers to sustain a zero bacteria count. Unlike most imported honey, Hasselman's honey is heated at a low temperature of 120 degrees to maintain its flavor and health benefits.

The Kids Activities at the Holland Farmers Market are free to attend and are held every Wednesday morning from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm in June (beginning with Market Story Time) and from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm in August. Activities are geared toward children from preschool through fifth grade. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The Holland Farmers Market is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm from late-May through mid-December, rain or shine. Be sure to shop early for the best selection! The City of Holland's Department of Leisure and Cultural Services hosts the Market at the Eighth Street Market Place (150 West Eighth Street) in Downtown Holland.
