Tree Huggers Plants Roots in Downtown Holland

The former Post’s Jewelry store in Downtown Holland is now home to a unique new business.  Tree Huggers, which sells earth-friendly products exclusively, opened its doors at 6 West Eighth Street just last Thursday, February 9.  The store was formally located in the Westshore Mall before moving downtown.

“Downtown Holland is perfect for us,” said Tree Huggers owner Angela Topp.  “We are so excited to be surrounded by local businesses that support one another. The downtown is amazing and we cannot wait to jump in and join all the activities that make it so unique.  We love the walkable community that Eighth Street has created.”

Tree Huggers sells environmentally sensitive products that are made from recycled and organic materials, many of which come from local vendors.  Their product line ranges from children’s toys and kitchen accessories, to reusable lunch sacks, purses and scarves, pet supplies, and much more.  The store also offers free recycling services of items that are typically hard for the average consumer to recycle, including everything from batteries and cords to wine corks, pens, coffee bags, and toothpaste tubes.

“We plan to offer workshops and be a great community resource on how to reduce your impact on the planet,” said Topp.

Tree Huggers is open Monday – Friday from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm and from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm on Saturdays.  The store plans to employ four or five individuals.  For more information on Tree Huggers, contact them at 616.396.1710 or visit them online at www.thetreehuggerstore.com.
