My Town: Three companies get grants to create 458 new jobs locally

LANSING, Mich. (WZZM)—Three companies are getting state funding to expand in West Michigan, generating more than $52 million in investments and creating up to 458 new jobs.

NOVO 1, which already has a customer call center in Holland, plans to open a new center in Cascade Township.  The company will invest $1.5 million, creating up to 287 jobs over three years.  The Michigan Economic Development Corporation awarded NOVO1 a $550,000 grant for the expansion Wednesday.   People interested in a position with NOVO1 should call (616) 834-9700 or visit www.novo1.com

The MEDC also awarded Herbruck Poultry Ranch in Saranac a $500,000 grant to expand its egg production and processing facilities, investing up to $33 million and creating 50 jobs.  Herbruck will use the grant money to expand a sanitary sewer pipeline to connect more of its egg processing facilities to the Lakewood Waste Authority treatment system.  Once completed, the $2 million pipeline will be donated to the LWA.

A final MEDC grant totaling $300,000 went to INglass USA, Inc, which makes lighting molds and materials that are mostly used for the automotive industry.   Inglass SPA is an Italian-based company that is expanding into the U.S. with a production plant in Byron Township.  The $17.6 million investment is expected to create up to 109 new jobs.
