ZEELAND, Mich.-- Allied Business Services, Inc., a full service collection agency and receivables management firm, was recently named as one of the “National Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR).

Allied Business Services was also a recipient of the West Michigan 101 Best Companies to Work For in March 2013, qualifying them for the national title.

“We are flattered to be recognized as not only one of West Michigan’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For, but nationally as well. This is a huge honor for us,” said Allied Business Services, Inc. Vice President Tim Vreeman. “Our company continues to invest in the development of every single employee and we strive to provide an environment which encourages collaboration, personal development and innovative thinking.”

Vreeman said the recognition has helped the company attract quality applicants for the 20 new positions Allied is now looking to fill.

This year marks Allied Business Services' 60th year in business, with nearly 50 employees specializing in debt recovery services for hospitals and medical and dental offices. With the demanding industry that its employees work in, Allied strives to create a great work environment, from holding lively morning meetings with dance music to providing a staff lounge with computers for personal use and a meditation room with vibrating massage chairs.

Allied Business Services also sees the importance in giving back to their community by encouraging employees to use company time to volunteer for various organizations. Allied’s support of Toys for Tots and the Center for Women in Transition received high marks.

The winning companies were assessed by an independent research firm, which reviewed a number of NABR's benchmarks,  including:

  • Compensation
  • Benefits and employee solutions
  • Employee enrichment, engagement and retention
  • Employee education and development
  • Recruitment, selection and orientation
  • Employee achievement and recognition
  • Communication and shared vision
  • Diversity and inclusion
  • Work-life balance
  • Community initiatives
  • Strategic company performance

“Nationally recognized award recipients keep innovative human resource initiatives at the forefront of their company culture and make it a priority to consider their workforce as an essential aspect in their company success,” said Jennifer Kluge, National Association for Business Resources President. “Our list of nationally recognized companies has grown significantly this year. We are proud to recognize and honor these winning companies.”
