HOLLAND, Mich.-- Organizers of the Holland/Zeeland Community Labor Day Truck Parade invite local businesses to participate in the annual event, taking place September 2, 2013.

 

Criteria for participating in the parade is as follows:

  • Company is located in the greater Holland/Zeeland Area.
  • Company employs people within the greater Holland/Zeeland area.
  • Company manufactures and distributes products from the greater Holland/Zeeland area.
  • Company has a big rig, 18-wheeler or box truck that is sharp, polished and parade-ready. Under certain situations and in limited quantity, smaller trucks and/or a cargo van may be acceptable.

 

The entrance fee is $50 for all participants; exceptions may apply for certain event sponsors. To register, go to www.truckparade.org and click on "Participate" or click here for a direct link to the form.  Space is very limited, so entries may be subject for review. The entry process/procedure may be altered and the foundation board has the final say on all entries. Deadline for entry is August 5, 2013.

 

The Holland/Zeeland Community Labor Day Truck Parade is a celebration of local businesses and the workforce. The event features more than 50 large trucks from companies that produce and distribute goods in the Holland/Zeeland area. These big rigs "bring the noise" as they begin in downtown Zeeland and roll through Holland's 8th Street ending at the Holland Civic Center where free ice cream, hot dogs and giveaways are provided for spectators.

The Labor Day Truck Parade and Ice Cream Social began in 2006 and has evolved into a highly anticipated community event. This annual event was created to honor and celebrate the products and employees of the Holland and Zeeland area businesses.
