The Zeeland Festivals Board is pleased to announce the hiring of Carla Flanders, owner of CMF Marketing as the Director of Zeeland’s Pumpkinfest 2013. CMF Marketing is currently involved with the Holland/Zeeland Community Labor Day Truck Parade, Lakeshore Art Festival, Seaway Run Expo, Muskegon Retail Incubator, and the Zeeland Pumpkinfest. In addition, CMF Marketing has experience coordinating large-scale events including the UICA Art Prize opening, Tulip Time Festival, National Food Carving Competition, Farmers Market Salsa Showdown, concerts and more.

Zeeland Festivals Inc. was founded in 2012 as a 501c3 to host local events that were developed by the Zeeland Chamber of Commerce. These events include, Pumpkinfest, the Magical Christmas Parade, Zeelmania and Zummerfest – which includes the Show and Shine Car Show. (Zeelmania is a partnership between Zeeland Festivals, the City of Zeeland and Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital and Zummerfest is a partnership between Zeeland Festivals and the City of Zeeland.)

The Pumpkinfest Committee started their relationship with Flanders in 2012 when she consulted with the festival on areas of marketing, sponsorship and organization.  Zeeland’s Pumpkinfest benefited from this partnership with an increase in financial support and an improvement in overall marketing efforts. Based on the improvements made to last year’s event, the Zeeland Festivals Board was excited to offer Flanders the Director position for the 2013 festival.

The Zeeland Chamber of Commerce, now part of the West Coast Chamber of Commerce, has traditionally managed Pumpkinfest. The Chamber of Commerce is committed to continuing support for all Zeeland community activities. The creation of Zeeland Festivals, Inc. allows the Chamber of Commerce to direct its focus to its primary mission; West Michigan businesses. Additionally, the Zeeland Festivals 501c3 status carries many benefits especially for businesses or individuals willing to make financial contributions to Pumpkinfest or other Zeeland Festival events.

“I am thrilled to be involved with such and amazing event,” commented Flanders. “This has been a long time tradition in the Zeeland community. I’m excited to continue that history of celebration with locals while showcasing to other communities all that Pumpkinfest has to offer. “

Save the date for the 29th Annual Pumpkinfest – October 3, 4, & 5, 2013. Event guests will be invited to join in the celebration as “Pumpkinfest Hits the Road” and explores many of America’s fine states through the crowd pleasing scarecrow scenes. Pumpkinfest is a family festival that has a little something for everyone and features free or low-cost events and activities. Pumpkinfest is sponsored solely by gifts, contributions and ads placed by participating businesses
