The Holland Historical Trust Board of Directors is pleased to announce and welcome their new Interim Executive Director, Steven W. Rosen. Steven was born and raised in Utah. He holds a M.A. degree from Binghamton University. His museum experiences have included postings at the Denison University Museum of Art, the Columbus Museum of Art (Ohio), Utah State University and Louisiana State University. He has held Directorial and Curatorial positions involving historical and modern art acquisition programs, building and planning efforts, staff supervision and executive positions for activities such as Save Outdoor Sculpture, the Utah Museums Association and the Utah Committee of NAGPRA, a Federal program. He is married to Elizabeth Jane Connell who currently serves as the Curator of Collections and Director for Exhibitions at the Muskegon Museum of Art. They support Savannah, Agnes, Hannah and Sophie, 4 long eared Basset Hounds.

The board has formed a search committee to conduct a nationwide search for a new Executive Director.  Members of this committee include Jane Clark, President of the Holland Area Chamber of Commerce; Bob VandeVusse, City Councilman; Amy Ziel, Human Resources professional; Jim Brooks, HHT member; Maxine DeBruyn, retired faculty member from Hope College; Mary Esther Lee, Director Emerita of the Public Museum of Grand Rapids and consultant to the board; and Steve Bulthuis, HHT Board of Directors.  The Trust is grateful to have a highly qualified group of dedicated people, who have stepped up to serve on this very important committee.  Their contributions will be critical in the near term, as they work toward the selection of a new Executive Director.

There is a lot of positive activity occurring on many fronts.  Be assured the work of the Trust is being attended to expeditiously and continues to align with its mission, “to be the catalyst for a dynamic interaction of the past and present that enriches the greater Holland area.”  The Holland Historical Trust wants to personally and openly thank you for the community’s continued support.
