The Holland Chorale is seeking applicants for a new Executive Director. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who has a love of the arts, and appreciates the role the Holland Chorale has played in the artistic life of West Michigan for over 50 years.

ORGANIZATIONAL DESCRIPTION:

The Holland Chorale is a community chorus entering its 55th season of

fulfilling its mission of providing the community with concerts of fine choral music. With five major

performances and two or three additional events each season, the Holland Chorale is proud to play a

vital role in the arts in our community, contributing to the quality of life in West Michigan.

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE: The Executive Director will be the chief ambassador of the Holland Chorale.

The primary objective of the Executive Director is to facilitate the long term success and sustainability of

the Holland Chorale, accomplished through community relationships and fund raising, and by being the

face of the Chorale in our community.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The first priority for the Executive Director will be to

develop, coordinate and execute a comprehensive strategy of financial development and support.

Subsequent priorities are to represent the Holland Chorale to the public, to develop marketing and

public relation objectives, and supervise efforts to achieve these objectives in cooperation with a

marketing committee and the Chorale’s graphic designer.

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• a love of the arts

• the ability to build and maintain relationships

• excellent organizational skills

• a strong work ethic

• the ability to initiate, manage time efficiently and work independently

TIME COMMITMENT: This is a part-time position estimated to average 20 hours per week over 12

months. (The time commitment tends to be greater during the September through May performance

season.)

COMPENSATION: Compensation commensurate with experience with future contracts negotiated to

include incentives related to performance.
