HOLLAND, Mich.-- Coppercraft Distillery, a Holland-based distiller of quality spirits with a focus on local ingredients and production, has announced the distribution of its gin, rum, vodka and citrus-flavored vodka to the entire Michigan market.

Look for Coppercraft in local retail locations and featured in cocktails at local establishments.

“We are very excited for our grain-to-glass spirits to arrive in the Michigan market after having spent the past year creating and improving our products,” said Owner and Co-Founder Walter Catton. “In terms of market opportunity, we believe the craft distilling industry is roughly 15 to 20 years behind the growth that has been seen in the craft beer industry. The industry as a whole is experiencing explosive (double digit) growth and it is an exciting time to be presenting our product to our community. We believe Michigan is a great place to introduce our locally crafted spirits.”

Coppercraft Distillery receives corn, rye and other heritage grains from local Holland farmer Don Boersen, in addition to procuring as many other raw materials as possible from local vendors.

The 9,000-square-foot distillery and 50-seat tasting room were opened in November at 184 120th Ave. in Holland. Visitors are invited to sample the products as well as enjoy a hand created cocktail showcasing Coppercraft’s spirits paired with freshly squeezed juices and other ingredients, many of which are made in house. In addition to the current spirits offerings of gin, rum, vodka and citrus flavored vodka, Coppercraft Distillery is also producing and aging bourbons, whiskies and brandies that are set for release later this year.

Coppercraft has invested over $750,000 in both equipment and building improvements in the past year, including its 350-gallon, copper still handmade in the United States. It plans to invest another $250,000 this year with the addition of a 750-gallon still and barrel storage for spirit aging.

Coppercraft distillery has been named as the first-ever official spirit sponsor of Tulip Time 2014. Look for Coppercraft cocktails at 18 Holland restaurants during Tulip Time. To celebrate a premium experience from grain to glass, visit the tasting room at Coppercraft Distillery. The tasting room is open Wednesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with scheduled tours at 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
