GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—The Grand Rapids Ballet has come up with a kid-friendly solution to spring break boredom.

Next week, when many schools will be dismissed for spring break, the Grand Rapids Ballet will present “Spring Break for Kids: A Different Tune”.   The family-friendly ballet will be April 8, 8 and 10 at the Peter Martin Wege Theatre off Ellsworth SW. The 30-minute performance is based on the popular School Zone book, “A Different Tune”, which teaches children that being different is just another way of being special.  The performance features music composed by Holland native singer-songwriter Brian Vander Ark of the Verve Pipe.

Performances are at 11:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. with activities beginning a half hour earlier in the lobby. Pre-show activities include a beginner trial ballet class with a GRBS faculty member.

Tickets are $5 per person.  To order tickets, call the Grand Rapids Ballet Box Office at (616) 454-4771 or visit ticketmaster.com.  Tickets are also available an hour prior to each performance at Peter Martin Wege Theatre, subject to availability.
