HOLLAND, Mich.--  The festival poster is out and a new campaign is underway, as Holland prepares for Tulip Time 2014.

This year, organizers have added the Tulip Time Membership Program, which gives participants a behind-the-scenes look at Tulip Time, as well as discounts on merchandise and a members-only poster and pin.  The first 50 people to sign up as members will also get a wristband and parking pass to the “Bloom Boom” party Saturday May 3.  Members will also be entered into a drawing for Bill Cosby tickets.

Memberships are $35 per person or $85 per family, up to five people.  For more information about the program, as well as festival event and ticket information, visit the Tulip Time website.

Tulip Time is May 3-10.  The theme is “Join the Dance”.  Artist Karin Nelson’s painting, “Resilience” was selected for this year’s Tulip Time poster.

“I wanted to show tulips in an abstract portrayal of strength, stateliness and dignity. These brave flowers are representational of the strength and resilience of the human spirit,” she said.

Nelson has received countless awards and her artwork has been included in many juried exhibitions including Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts Regional Exhibition, MI ARTS Visual Arts Competition in Holland, and Celebration of the Arts. Her works are also displayed at Treeline Gallery in Suttons Bay, Canterbury Cottage in Holland, UBU in Grandville, and in her home-based gallery.
