HOLLAND, Mich.—A pair of chefs will teach two techniques to change and preserve the flavor of fresh market foods during the Eighth Street Farmers Market this Saturday.

On June 22, Piper Restaurant chef de cuisine Matt Kearby and executive chef Keaton Stearns will walk visitors through quick pickling and salt-curing techniques. The demonstrations, sponsored by Local First, will begin at 10 a.m.

The cooking segment is part of the farmers market’s Chef Series, which runs every Saturday morning through September 14.  The demonstrations are free to attend. 

The Eighth Street Farmers Market is open every Wednesday and Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. through mid-December.  The farmers market is located at 150 West Eighth Street in Downtown Holland. For more information about the market, contact Candy Todd at (616) 355-1138.
