Ottawa County Sheriff's Deputy disciplined
News

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. (WZZM)- The Ottawa County Sheriff's Department is disciplining a deputy who was overpaid for his duties.  Deputy Scott Dyke must repay more than $2,000 and serve a one week unpaid suspension.

Undersheriff Greg Steigenga says Dyke was paid for working as a liaison office at Jenison Public Schools while working for the Sheriff's Department.  Steigenga says there was no wrongful intent by Dyke, but he should have handles the situation differently.  The Sheriff's Department is also reassigning Dyke to its road patrol division.
