No More Free Rides for Medicaid Cardholders

From: Macatawa Area Express

Beginning January 1, 2011, MAX will no longer offer free fixed-route rides to Medicaid cardholders. Free rides WILL continue to be offered to Medicare cardholders.

Previously, MAX had honored MiHealth cards, which are health insurance cards issued by the state of Michigan to qualified low-income residents. We are discontinuing these MiHealth free rides because there is no expiration date on these cards and their eligibility varies from month to month. Also, unfortunately, many residents were passing the cards around to children and other relatives and we were not able to verify the riders' eligibility.

If you have any questions about this change, please contact MAX at 616-355-1010.
