(WZZM)- It was a battle of the Okay Black in East Grand Rapids Friday. The Pioneers hosting the Holland Dutch.

Holland came into the contest having struggled mightily on defense in their first two games. Combined they allowed 96 points in their back-to-back losses.

Meanwhile, East Grand Rapids has only lost seven games as a program in the last nine years.

The four-time defending state champions started strong from the first snap.  Off play action, Ryan Elble found Nick Mulhall in stride for an 80 yard touchdown and a 7-0 lead.

The Dutch were forced to punt on their first possession, but the Pioneers blocked the kick.  Cory Ditmar scooped it up and scored East's second touchdown just three minutes into the game.

The game belonged to East Grand Rapids, which rolled easily past Holland, 42 to 7.
