Active Aging Week at Evergreen Commons

Are you 50+ and ready to get active?  You can feel better, have more energy and stay healthier!  Active aging means living life as fully as possible.  During this special week at Evergreen Commons, you can find an activity that’s right for you.  All Active Aging Week activities are no pressure, suited to everyone and best of all – FREE!  Give it a try!

Evergreen’s objectives during Active Aging Week are to encourage all 50+ adults in the community to participate in our wellness programs and to persuade current participants to try at least one new activity.  The goal is to have fun, start slow and easy and be active . . . your way!

Our kick-off for the week is a motivational lecture with Evergreen President and marathon runner Larry Erlandson.  His presentation is titled “The Meaning of the Marathon” which will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the seminar room at Evergreen.  Also on Monday, you can try CardioCore, a 30 minute low impact aerobics workout combined with 30 minutes of mat stretching.  On Tuesday, you can join “Fit for Golf” which is a workshop designed to keep you in golfing shape during the off-season.  All activities are free and open to anyone 50+.

To see our complete schedule of activities visit our website a www.evergreencommons.org.  Activities during the week will include “Diets Don’t Work”, Advanced WaterWorks, Line Dancing, Self-Defense, Meet the Trainers and much more.  Space is limited so register soon by calling 616-355-5121.

Evergreen Commons, a center for active aging, helps adults 50+ get the most out of life in the second half.
